“The reason I’m interested in science and agricultural journalism is because I grew up on a farm that has been in my family for four generations,” Goodin said. “I’m a country girl at heart. When I was younger I sold eggs, sweet corn and edamame (edible) soybeans with my sisters.”
Some of Goodin’s favorite things about MU so far are the friends she has made, the diversity of the campus and the state of art facilities at the recreation complex.
“I’ve wanted to go to the University of Missouri since I was 10 because both of my aunts are alumni,” Goodin said. “I always thought it was the college everyone wanted to go to.”
Besides being a full-time student, Goodin is currently employed as a waitress at Ruby Tuesday. Goodin loves spending her hard-earned money shopping for clothes. She also loves watching Saturday Night Live and listening to classic rock and country music.
“My biggest inspiration in life is my mom, Monica Goodin,” Goodin said. “She is a great lady, entrepreneur, has good values and a great heart. She is someone I can truly look up to.”
Goodin is undecided of her major, but is certain with all the opportunities MU presents she will find her career within MU’s academic walls.
