McKaylee Reavis

Hey y’all! My name is McKaylee Reavis. My father’s job requires my family and me to move around frequently. I was born in Florida, but then a few months later, my family was transferred to North Carolina, which is where the rest of my family lives. After North Carolina, we moved back to Florida. Then, the summer before I entered seventh grade, we moved up to Virginia. I was able to finish high school in the same school, which had been a dream of mine since I can remember. I had to face my senior year by myself because my family was transferred to Missouri, but it was a great experience and helped prepare me for college.

I’m deeply and unconditionally in love with animals. I believe that because animals can’t speak for themselves, someone has to do it. So in my free time, I take photographs of animals. I want to share a message that animals are like humans in many ways. Animals have a purpose in life, and they feel many emotions like we do.

I have two quotes that I have based my life on. One is: “Everything happens for a reason.” I believe that when something bad happens in my life, it makes me appreciate the little things more. The second quote is: “Life is like photography. We develop from the negatives.” Everyone has to deal with tragedies, but we become who we are by learning from the bad events or the mistakes we have made. This is how I view life. With these two quotes.
