Ever since I was a little girl, you could find me on the farm, knee deep in manure, helping my parents with endless hours of cattle work, or in the combine with my grandfather, in Wellsville, Missouri. Agriculture has been my passion for the past 18 years, and also a way of life. With my experiences showing cattle and swine nationally and my love and passion for the FFA Organization, I have seen the misconceptions and backlash the ag industry has received. This has not only worried me, but raised a sense of urgency to raise awareness. I not only have a passion for raising awareness through my own personal ag stories, but others’ as well. I have seen firsthand the impact agriculture has had on our communities and our nation. Without better awareness and better educated members of our nation, the ag industry is in danger. I wish to write articles that not only inspire others, but inspire a change. At this moment in time, I hope to pursue a career in agriculture that will allow me to share the stories and promote this change of consumer awareness.
