Allison Wepler is from Liberty, Mo., which is north of Kansas City. She is very excited about the possibilities agriculture and Mizzou have to offer her. Attending Mizzou runs in the family for Wepler. Her father played football for the Mizzou Tigers when he was a college student.
In high school, Wepler was active in FCCLA, Broadcasting, Student Council, dance and cheer. Wepler does not have an agricultural background, so being a student in CAFNR has opened up a huge amount of opportunities for succeeding in the adult world and finding a satisfying career in agriculture. She decided to major in science and agricultural journalism because she wanted to be a part of the business or journalism world.
“It is an important thing that we are going to need in the world for a long time,” Wepler said concerning her choice to focus on agriculture within the journalism world. Wepler is also very interested in travel and her goal is to participate in a CAFNR study abroad program one day. She would really love to have the opportunity to study in Europe or Australia.
When this busy freshman is not reporting for the CAFNR Corner Post, she has many other interests. She loves shopping and finding the best deal, going to country music concerts of great artists such as Florida-Georgia Line, exploring museums and hanging out with friends and family. Her favorite food is sushi, which she found because of her interest in trying new foods. Wepler would like to try riding a horse and would love to be able to visit every country in the world.
This year at Mizzou, Wepler wants to meet new people and try new things because it will be an eye opening experience. Be watching for stories from this reporter on the CAFNR Corner Post website.
