Hey y’all, I’m Abigail Hoer, a senior studying agricultural education and leadership with minors in ag economics and science and ag communications. I love my home here at Mizzou, the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, where my classes feel like a family. I’m from Mexico, Missouri, and was active in FFA in high school, which inspired my appreciation of the agriculture industry. This organization challenged me in various areas, whether it was building a 6-by-10 foot trailer in shop class, competing in public speaking competitions, or even keeping lambs in my backyard for a summer. What drives my passion for agriculture education is bridging the information gap between consumers, especially those in urban and suburban areas and agriculturists. I’ve worked in the food and restaurant industry since I was 16. I love how food brings people together and I want to connect the customers I serve with the food they enjoy. After graduation, I hope to go into sales or marketing at an agricultural business.
