Hey y’all! My name is Ande Harris. I am a freshman at the University of Missouri and am currently majoring in biology, minoring in health and nutrition, and working towards getting my pre-vet requirements. I am a Chi Omega within Mizzou’s Greek Life, in the honors college, and a member of the Mizzou club swim team. Moving to Columbia, Missouri, from Little Rock, Arkansas, has been quite a surprising experience for me. I anticipated being surrounded by a variety of people, primarily more “northern” than I was because I was leaving the comfort of the south for the Midwest. However, in my short time here, I have already realized that Mizzou is far more than the state that surrounds it. While I have not had much experience with agriculture or journalism in the past, I was a member of Green Club at my high school as well as an editor and artist for the yearly journal called Veritas. I was a part of a staff that filtered publications for the journal, created spreads for the pages, and even wrote some of the entries. It was a small introduction into the world of journalism and publications, and I am excited to further my pursuits with CAFNR Corner Post.
