Growing up surrounded by bountiful fields of black angus cattle and fescue, I was always the odd one out with my herd of meat goats. In the small town of Eldon, Missouri, agriculture meant large-scale production, and regardless of my desire to be submerged in such a community, I just never felt I had a place. However, after a dedicated 4-H career evolved into a driven National FFA Organization involvement, my eyes were opened to the vast opportunities present to be a part of the agriculture industry. This year you will catch me navigating the Show-Me state spreading the good word of agriculture and cultivating tomorrow’s leaders as a Missouri FFA State Vice President. Excited is an understatement when describing my eagerness to begin my journey to the southern portions of our great state to expand my knowledge of our state’s No. 1 industry. As I spend this year of growth and discovery pursuing a degree in animal sciences on the pre veterinary track, I cannot wait to engage with the readers of the CAFNR Corner Post.
