For the Students, By the Students of the MU Science and Agricultural Journalism Program
Author: Alexandra Gast
I am Alexandra Gast, a freshman at the University of Missouri studying agricultural education with a minor in plant sciences. I was born and raised on a cow-calf operation in Nevada, Missouri. With both of my parents being teachers, I developed a passion for education at a young age. From attending the Global Youth Institute, to being an Agriculture Education on the Move Educator for my school district, I have nurtured others and myself with my time in the largest youth organization in the country. Throughout the year, you may see me traveling around the state inspiring and stretching the potential of young agriculturists, as I serve as the Missouri FFA State Secretary. This journey is sure to bring me to some exciting destinations and I hope to tell my stories, right here at the University of Missouri.
