The Missouri Farm and Food Preservation Act – a piece of legislation that could affect how animal agriculture is regulated in the state – is the topic for the annual Mizzou Collegiate Farm Bureau Farm Forum, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007.
A reception begins at 6:15 p.m., and the program follows at 7 p.m. in Monsanto Auditorium in the Bond Life Sciences Center on the MU campus.
According to Ryan Niemeyer, CFB president, this legislation is the Missouri Farm Bureau’s focus for 2007.
Niemeyer expects a lot of student involvement in the discussion because this legislation could affect students’ home counties. “Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend,” Niemeyer said.
State Representative Brian Munzlinger; Dan Cassidy, chief administrative officer of Missouri Farm Bureau; Jessie Heimer, CAFNR graduate; and Rusty Kahrs of Hughesville, will each speak for 15 minutes. Afterward, audience members will be able to able to ask questions of the panel.
