The John D. Hale Band will be the highlight at a charity concert organized by the Mizzou Independent Aggies from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., Thursday, March 8, at Cody’s Saloon, 2508 Paris Road.
This is GDI’s first time hosting a band for its mid-semester dance. The John D. Hale Band plays the red dirt road/Texas country genre and has been compared to Cross Canadian Ragweed, the Randy Rodgers Band and the Eli Young Band.
“This concert is a great opportunity for our organization to promote a genre of music that many in the college listen to,” said Laura Beach, a senior agricultural education major and GDI member.
Those attending must be 18 to get in the door and 21 to drink. The cost will be $10 to get in the door and $5 for a bottomless cup.
A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. “The money goes to a great cause and it allows the students to have a chance to get together to enjoy themselves,” Beach said. “It also gives GDI the chance to help support our charity of choice.
