Aggies invade Cody's for a good cause
James Thornton, posted Jan. 24, 2007

The Independent Aggies (GDI) will host its traditional Start Day Dance to kick off the semester this Thursday, Jan. 25, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. at Cody’s Saloon, 2508 Paris Road.

The purpose of the event is to “come out and start the semester by making friends and getting into the swing of school,” said Kelly Christopherson, GDI vice president.

Christopherson said the money raised is used in “supporting the Youth in Agriculture Fund through the Sale of Champions at the Missouri State Fair.” Last year, GDI helped to purchase the reserve grand champion meat goat. She also said that this helps get the organization’s name out to the public.

Those attending must be 18 to enter. There is a $5 cover charge at the door and a $5 bottomless cup for those 21 and older.

If you would like to join GDI, its next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the Trowbridge Livestock Center.
