Meet Nicholas Jain
Whether it's pulled pork barbecue in southeast Missouri or octopus on the island of Santorini in Greece, I love cooking, tasting, eating, and enjoying food. I am a sophomore Agricultural Journalism student focusing in Food and Wine.  When I'm not cooking or eating, I love to follow culinary trends and keep up with what is new in food, including exploring the process of food production and the ethical issues surrounding it. Currently, I am interested in how locally produced and organic foods fit into our food system and how they effect the taste and tenderness of food.

In between meals, I enjoy both art and editorial photography. I am a big fan of social media Web sites such as Facebook and Twitter and am interested in how they change the way people receive news. Many people think of me as a news junkie — I want to know what is happening in my community and world.

I also enjoy spending time outside hunting, fishing and gardening, both for fun and to take a more active role in producing ingredients.

I'm a huge fan of the University of Missouri and the people who make up its community. I love going to Mizzou Tiger football and basketball games, and I am a member of the Alumni Association Student Board. I enjoy the rich traditions that surround the university such as Homecoming.

I have worked as a staff photographer at The Maneater student newspaper and at the MizzouRec student recreation complex.
