Meet Lauren Studer
M-I-Z-Z-O-U, the crowd can be heard far from the stadium screaming the letters, rooting on the University of Missouri football team. Rain or shine, freezing cold or blazing hot, I was there cheering on the team.
For 18 years of my life, I lived on a small farm outside a small town in northeast Missouri. But, I also have a strong desire to know more about the rest of the world. And that is what led me to Mizzou.
I chose Mizzou not only for the expertise in agriculture, but also its well-known journalism school. Put the two together, and I had found my major, Agricultural Journalism.
As much as I enjoy being at the university, I also love spending time with my family and friends, but having them spread around the world makes it a little difficult. Two of my cousins are United States Marines and are currently overseas. My brother, Michael, is also overseas in Iraq. He is a soldier in the United States Army. My sister Lindsay lives in Indiana and graduated from Mizzou in 2007. Some of my favorite memories are when all of my family gets to come home and be together.
What most people notice right off the bat about me is that I am a lively, outgoing person who loves to talk. I try to stay optimistic about everything and most of the times always have a smile on my face because everyone smiles in the same language.
I am looking forward to this semester in school, and more yet to come. Next year when you can hear the crowd roaring from the distance — know I’ll be there cheering my team on. M-I-Z-Z-O-U!
