Meet Carah Hart
Hello! My name is Carah Hart and I am a sophomore Agricultural Journalism major with an emphasis in radio broadcast. This is my second semester writing for the online publication, CAFNR Corner Post. I enjoy providing readers with many interesting multimedia and print pieces along with learning new things about the agricultural industry.
I was raised on a small farm in north central Missouri with my parents, David and Julie Hart, along with my older sister, Emily. Agriculture has always played an important role in my life. I was actively involved in youth agricultural organizations such as the National FFA Organization, 4-H and the National Junior Swine Association. I raise swine and cattle on my farm.
While in high school, I interned for KMZU Radio in Carrollton, Mo. At KMZU, I discovered my love for broadcasting and learned more about the agriculture industry. I love that I can combine agriculture, conversation and my love of people into the agricultural journalism major.
In my spare time, I enjoy sports such as running, tennis, bowling and basketball as well as attending Mizzou basketball and football games. I also enjoy singing country music, watching movies with my friends, and reading.
At the University, I am an active member of Collegiate Cattlewomen and Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. Both organizations have allowed me to meet many interesting people and to stay involved within the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR).
My favorite thing about CAFNR is the people. I have met so many interesting people as well as friends through my major, and there is always a professor willing to go out of their way to help you succeed in CAFNR.
I was also selected to sing the National Anthem in 2010 at university sporting events. I enjoy performing and hope that I can continue singing while attending the University of Missouri.
After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in the agriculture industry working in public relations or radio broadcasting.
