Annual tradition of ‘House Decs’ is centerpiece of MU Homecoming

For decades, Mizzou fraternities and sororities have started the school year off with two months of intense preparations all for one special night. The chapters design massive “pomp” boards, which they set up the night before the big homecoming football game for alumni and their families to enjoy. Pomping involves rolling tissue paper and gluing it to the boards to create a design that matches the theme assigned by the homecoming committee, Steerco. The concept requires the weekly participation of every member of the fraternity and sorority in order to finish by homecoming in hopes that they will be the next chapter to take the homecoming crown.
