The Independent Aggies, or GDI, sponsored a washers tournament in conjunction with CAFNR Week at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Trowbridge Livestock Pavilion.
Thirty-four teams listened to country music and participated in the event that lasted for roughly four hours. The teams consisted of members from various organizations in CAFNR that gathered together and competed for the championship.
“The washers tournament gives members of specific clubs the opportunity to work together as a team, but still interact with other students in CAFNR,” said Jason Robinett, GDI president.
The washers tournament was scored by pool play, which is single elimination. The top two teams moved up on the bracket, while the defeated teams were out. It was a competitive night, but participants said it was an all around good time.
“It is fun, and a good way to get involved in CAFNR,” said Leslie Burns, a freshman participant.
The night was concluded by Alpha Gamma Rho winning the tournament and bragging rights until next year’s CAFNR week washers tournament.
