Barnwarming comes home

Enjoy a country dinner, catch up with friends on a Friday night and then hit the dance floor. The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week wound down with barnwarming in MU’s Trowbridge Livestock Center, complete with jeans, cowboy hats and boots kicking up dust in time with that good old country music. |

FASS Fish Fry raises awareness, funding

The MU chapter of the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Society held its biannual fish fry Friday, Sept. 21, in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ courtyard. The event, which was held during CAFNR Week, is meant to raise funding and awareness for the club. |

Speaker gives lesson on life

College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources students gathered Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in Monsanto Auditorium as accomplished speaker David Frazier, a first-year doctoral student studying agricultural education, gave a motivating presentation on the “real lessons” of life. The speech came during CAFNR Week and at just the right time to lighten the mood, settling down students during midterms. |

Little Ag Expo returns to Lowry Mall

Skit night is filled with laughs

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources held its CAFNR Week skit night Sept. 18. Skit night, which was sponsored by the CAFNR Week Steering Committee, included skits and lip sync routines from all of the king and queen candidates’ sponsored groups. The skits revolved around agriculture and the theme of the week that CAFNR is “Here, There, and Everywhere.” |

Representing the College will be the CAFNR king and queen. This year, 10 candidates are running for the title of CAFNR queen. Through a series of interviews, the queen will be chosen on Sept. 18, 2007. |

CAFNR Week kicks off with agricultural education in the park

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week kicked off Thursday, Sept. 13, with an appearance at the Twilight Festival, a downtown Columbia event held every Thursday evening in June and September. CAFNR organizations set up “carnival” theme booths alongside Flat Branch Park on Fourth Street to demonstrate to children how agriculture affects daily life. |
