CAFNR Week 2007 Highlights

	Barnwarming comes home by Jessica Petzel, posted Sept. 25, 2007 Enjoy a country dinner, catch up with friends on a Friday night and then hit the dance floor. The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week wound down with barnwarming in MU’s Trowbridge Livestock Center, complete with jeans, cowboy hats and boots kicking up dust in time with that good old country music.
	FASS Fish Fry raises awareness, funding by Andy Phipps, posted Sept. 25, 2007 The MU chapter of the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences Society held its biannual fish fry Friday, Sept. 21, in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ courtyard. The event, which was held during CAFNR Week, is meant to raise funding and awareness for the club.
	Independent Aggies dominate stick horse rodeo by Katie Maupin, posted Sept. 25, 2007 Seven teams turned out to compete in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week Stick Horse Rodeo, which was sponsored by the Collegiate Horseman’s Association and Block and Bridle.
	Speaker gives lesson on life by Becky Legel, posted Sept. 21, 2007 College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources students gathered Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in Monsanto Auditorium as accomplished speaker David Frazier, a first-year doctoral student studying agricultural education, gave a motivating presentation on the “real lessons” of life. The speech came during CAFNR Week and at just the right time to lighten the mood, settling down students during midterms.

After a hiatus, the Little Ag Expo is back! “This is an event that has been done during CAFNR Week in years past; however, it has been absent from the week's activities for a year or two,” said Rachel Bartholomew
	Skit night is filled with laughs by Kimberly Cross, posted Sept. 20, 2007 The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources held its CAFNR Week skit night Sept. 18. Skit night, which was sponsored by the CAFNR Week Steering Committee, included skits and lip sync routines from all of the king and queen candidates’ sponsored groups. The skits revolved around agriculture and the theme of the week that CAFNR is “Here, There, and Everywhere.”
	Great Grill Off is a great time by Becca Stephen, posted Sept. 20, 2007 The smell of grilled steaks filled the air Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at the annual Great Grill Off held at the Trowbridge Livestock Center on the MU campus. The Collegiate Cattle Women as part of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week hosted the event.

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week is underway and faculty and students alike hope for another successful year. Representing the College will be the CAFNR king and queen. This year, 10 candidates are running for the title of CAFNR queen. Through a series of interviews, the queen will be chosen on Sept. 18, 2007.

	A little mud never hurt anyone Story and photos by Abby Grimmett , posted Sept. 18, 2007 College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources students got down and dirty for CAFNR Week’s fifth annual mud volleyball tournament sponsored by the Independent Aggies. The event was held in the Trowbridge Livestock Center’s arena on Friday, Sept. 14.
	CAFNR Week kicks off with agricultural education in the park by Jamie Floyd, posted Sept. 17, 2007 The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ CAFNR Week kicked off Thursday, Sept. 13, with an appearance at the Twilight Festival, a downtown Columbia event held every Thursday evening in June and September. CAFNR organizations set up “carnival” theme booths alongside Flat Branch Park on Fourth Street to demonstrate to children how agriculture affects daily life.
	CAFNR Week set to entertain, educate by Becky Legel, posted Sept. 13, 2007 The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources is ready for 2007 CAFNR Week, which is filled with numerous activities stretching from Sept. 13 to Sept. 21. Each year several changes are made to improve the week, but some things will stay the same.
