CAFNR
Wrapping Party

Thanks
to the participation from many clubs, organizations and students
in CAFNR, the college-wide gift-wrapping party was a huge
success. All the clubs and members gathered to wrap all the
items bought for their adopted families. “I was proud
of the college that we could all get together and really help
so many people,” said Jacob Adams, relations team co-leader
for student council.
Adopt-A-Family is one of the projects that the student council
sponsors. CAFNR clubs are assigned families and give items
to buy. Then the organizations came together to wrap their
gifts. The Columbia Voluntary Action Center organizes this
annual community service project for needy families in the
area.
The wrapping party was Nov. 29 in 145 Eckles Hall. This year
56 people in 20 families were sponsored the year Adopt-A-Family.
The program was very organized. “This made the night
not only successful, but extremely streamlined as well,”
said Brianna Schuster, student council secretary.
The 15 clubs that participated spent more that $4,000 on gifts
and home products, said Adams. The student council provided
all wrapping materials and food for the evening.
“I really see this event as something that will continue
for years to come, and one that strengthens our college as
a whole,” Adams said.
