The
smell of cooking fish was heavy in the air at the Anheuser
Bush Natural Resources courtyard on Friday. The Fisheries
and Aquatic Science Societies hosted a fish fry from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. At the fish fry, there were 60 pounds of fish with
sides of potato salad, baked beans, potato chips and cookies.
Zackary
Blevins, president of FASS, was excited about the day’s
activities. “We hope that the fish fry helps educate
the students and faculty about our organization,” said
Blevins. This year, the attendance was down according to Blevins.
He said that it was probably because of the overcast and cold
weather
FASS
hosts a fall and spring fish fry annually. The funds allow
students of the organization to attend conferences and other
leadership opportunities. “I am really excited about
the fish fry, its one of our main fundraisers,” said
FASS member Tom Boersig.
