Week queen candidates

The
competition is endless as this year's barnwarming queen candidates
are getting ready for the big night. Barnwarming will be held
Friday, September 29, 2006 at the Blue Note. This year the
candidates are Ashley Schlichenmayer, Jo Wyatt, Kelly Christopherson,
Tyne Morgan, Lori Guthals, Jamie Swoboda, Megan Twellman,
Marin Summers, Sarah Jackson, Nicki Busdieker and Megan Perry.
The candidates are required to attend and participate in events,
write an essay and have an interview.

Nichole Busdieker
is a senior agricultural journalism and agricultural economics
major. She is representing Collegiate Farm Bureau as a
queen candidate. Busdieker participates in Collegiate
Farm Bureau, Sigma Alpha, Agricultural Economics, and
Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. Her hobbies include
spending time with family, writing, scrapbooking, and
working on her family farm. Busdieker describes herself
as "a very loyal and hard working individual. I'm
always there willing and ready to help." Busdieker
is planning on graduating in May and attending law school
next year. |

Christopherson

Lori
Guthals, a junior agricultural journalism major, is representing
the Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen as a queen candidate.
Guthals is involved in Block and Bridle, Sigma Alpha and
MCC. She likes to show cattle, scrapbook, shop, cook and
spend time with friends and family. Guthals said she "loves
to have a good time and always tries to stay positive."
She also said that she loves the color pink. |

The
candidate from Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow
is Sarah Jackson. Jackson is involved in CAFNR Student
Development Board, CAFNR Student Council and is the secretary
of Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen. Her hobbies include
reading, dancing, watching movies, showing cattle and
anything outdoors. Jackson describes herself as a "petite
dynamo with a passion for agriculture and life in general."
She said she has a career goal of being a staff or freelance
writer for one of three national dairy magazines. |

The
candidate representing Alpha Gamma Rho is Tyne Morgan.
She is involved with Sigma Alpha, CAFNR Cast and CAFNR
Ambassadors. Morgan currently is a farm broadcast intern
for Brownfield. She is also a Farm Bureau Ambassador and
was recently crowned the Missouri State Fair Queen. She
enjoys cheering on the Tigers, spending time with family
and friends, going home to see her baby sister and meeting
new people. |

Ashley
Schlichenmayer is the candidate representing Alpha Gamma
Sigma. Schlichenmayer is a junior plant science major,
emphasizing in crop protection. She is involved in Agronomy
Club, Lutheran Student Fellowship, CAFNR Student Council
and GDI. Schlichenmayer describes herself as "motivated
and outgoing and usually friendly." She likes to
read, scrapbook, and is addicted to Facebook and the Rocky
Mountains. |

The
queen candidate from Mizzou FFA is Marin Summers. She
is a senior majoring in animal science with a minor in
chemistry. She is the vice president of Mizzou FFA. She
is also involved in the annual Haord's Dairy Judging contest.
She currently works at Foremost Dairy where she assists
Dr. Tyler. |

Jamie
Swoboda is a senior animal science major and equine science
minor. Swoboda is the candidate for Block and Bridle.
Swoboda describes herself as very motivated and determined.
"I always have a smile on my face and a positive
attitude." |

Megan
Twellman is an agribusiness management major, seeking
a minor in international agriculture. Twellman is representing
the Agricultural Economics Club as a queen candidate.
She is involved with the Agricultural Economics Club,
CAFNR study abroad ambassador, CAFNR Student Council,
Tiger’s Lair and the ZOU Crew. She enjoys spending
time with family and friends, the outdoors and traveling.
“I feel some of my best qualities are leadership,
responsibility, organization and caring,” Twellman
said. |

Jo
Wyatt, the candidate for Sigma Alpha, is a senior animal
science major. She is involved in Block and Bridle and
Collegiate Horsemen. Her hobbies are hanging out with
her roommates, reading and anything outdoors. Wyatt said
she is "outgoing, assertive, confident and honest." |
