The
atmosphere was peaceful on Sunday morning when CAFNR week
was kicked off with a worship service sponsored by the men
of Alpha Gamma Rho. Matthew Bollinger, a member of the Alpha
Gamma Rho and chairman of the event, led the congregation
in a few songs before a prayer was spoken. Allan Thompson,
a sophomore at MU who is very active with the Baptist Student
Union, preached the Word.
“This was my first CAFNR worship service,” said
CAFNR student Sarah Jackson, “I thought the worship
service was a nice touch to the week.” Sarah was among
13 other people who attended the event. “Although it
was small in attendance, I thought it was a very inspirational
and thought-provoking service,” said Jackson.
The Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity takes pride in sponsoring this
event. Besides setting up the speakers, they also supplied
doughnuts, orange juice and milk to those who attended. “I
thought it went very well. Everyone was well prepared and
the speaker was very professional,” said Alpha Gamma
Rho member Brett Naylor. “God is very important to me.
I went to worship Him and support my brothers,” said
Naylor when asked why he attended the service. This event
was a great addition to the ongoing CAFNR week.
