The Missouri Cattlemen's Annual Conference and Trade Show will be held Dec. 8 - 11 at the Holiday Inn Expo Center in Columbia.
Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen are sending around 30 women to help with and experience this year's conference.
Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen are proud of member, Mindy Montgomery, Saline County, who is competing against nine young women in this year's Missouri Beef Queen Contest. Daughter of Bobby and Connie Montgomery, Mindy is a junior majoring in animal science and agricultural economics.
"It would be an honor to represent the Missouri Beef Industry," Montgomery said.
The contestants are judged on an application, interview, and a five to eight minute speech. The new queen will represent the Missouri beef industry by promoting and educating the public about all facets of beef production. She will travel the state giving illustrated presentations and speeches and will serve at the Missouri State Fair. In addition, the new queen will serve with the Missouri Beef Ambassador on the Missouri Junior Cattlemen's Board.
