GDI
holds CAFNR Week washers tournament

The washer’s
tournament, sponsored by GDI, was well attended with 37 teams
representing six different clubs and organizations. The tournament
was held in the Trowbridge Livestock Center Wednesday evening.
The event lasted most of the night as teams played to 15 with
no cancellations and were removed from the tournament through
double elimination.
Winners of
the tournament represented one of the 22 GDI teams. The only
team not representing GDI to make it close to the final
four was a team from Farmhouse that made it to the final eight.
Brandie Bryson
and Ben Rosenfelder, also known as “the washer
hammer,” played on a team together for GDI. They like to
play washers whenever they get together with friends at tailgates.
Rosenfelder
said they didn’t really have a strategy.
“We just wing it. Look for us on ESPN someday,” Rosenfelder said.
Whether the
competitors came in with a specific strategy to win or were just
playing for fun, everyone seemed to have
a great time. Some people may
even start practicing for next year’s tournament. Others will continue to play for
fun when they get together with friends.
