The Horticulture
Club’s annual Winter Sale is coming up. The sale will take
place on Dec. 8 in the Anheuser Busch Natural Resources building
lobby. The sale may continue through Dec 9, depending on availability.
At the Winter
Sale, the Horticulture Club will be selling poinsettias in a variety
of colors. There will be approximately 100 to 150 red poinsettia
plants, with a few pink and white also being sold. Members of
the Horticulture Club will be running the sale, with the newly
elected president, Amanda Brinker at the helm.
Prices for
the poinsettias have not yet been determined, but the use for
the profits has. The club hopes to raise enough money for a special
trip.
“This
year we’re hoping to attend MACHS (Mid-American Collegiate
Horticultural Society) at the University of Illinois at the Champaign-Urbana
campus. It’s a national horticulture event with plant judging
and other various contests,” Maria Bellrose, former president
of the Horticulture Club, said.
If you are
looking to fill your home or dorm with some holiday cheer, head
on over to the Horticulture Club’s Winter Sale and pick
up your own MU-grown poinsettia.
