Who's That Man?
Nicki Busdieker, Corner Post Staff

That man is Jared VerDught. Jared is serving as the 2004 College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) Student Council President. However, there is a lot more to this man than meets the eye. So take a few minutes and get to know "that man" who's keeping CAFNR at the top.

Name: Jared Elgene VerDught

Hometown: Higginsville

Major(s): Agriculture Systems Management and Agriculture Economics

Expected Graduation Date: May 2005

Other Organizations/Activities: Alpha Gamma Rho, CAFNR Ambassador, Alpha Zeta, Alpha Mu, Focus group at the Alpha Gamma Rho house, Prague experience for six weeks, and Jamaican experience with Won by one building homes.

Future Plans: Would like to work for a Farm Machinery Manufacturer with product development or training in new product use

Favorite Class: Agriculture Journalism 240 (web design) Most embarrassing Moment: When he was about 11 he was giving a 4-H demonstration. He was showing how to wire a light. During the demonstrating he messed something up and it didn't light up. When he went to unplug it he received a shocking jump start.

Quote: "Success is a journey not a destination."

Dream or Goal: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Mark 12:30

What do you want to do this year for CAFNR? "To increase the involvement between the school of agriculture and the school of Natural resources."

So if you see Jared walking around on campus, flag him down and introduce yourself. He's working for you here at CAFNR and besides that he's a great guy to know.
