January 28th 2004- The College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources held their first Student Council meeting for the semester. This meeting was highlighted by the introduction of the new 2004 CAFNR Student Council officers.

President: Jared Verdught
Vice President: Stacey Werr
Secretary: Gretchen Stiefel
Treasurer: Joe Don McGaugh
Reporter: Tiffany Crews
MSA Representative: Megan Fox

At the meeting there was an election for a new advisor; Student Council advisors serve a two year term. Dr. James Spain was elected to serve the next two years as one of the Student Council advisors.

There was an amendment made to the Student Council Constitution. Last year with all of the confusion during the elections it was discovered that there needed to be a change in the explanation of who could run from each class. With the amendment Article III Section 3 reads:

"Each class in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (i.e., Freshman, Sophomore, etc.) may elect four representatives by hours completed according to the University of Missouri Standards per class who are to be elected by their respective class members. Candidate(s) within each category receiving a plurality of votes cast shall be representative(s)."

Goals were also discussed for this up-coming year. Some thoughts were to work with Natural Resources Student Council, to increase publicity about what is going on here at CAFNR, increase fundraising for events such as Preview Mizzou and Fall Round-Up and to possibly have another acclaimed speaker come to talk to the college.
