Emerging Leaders Program Bowls a Strike
Meghan Stewart, Corner Post Staff

January 28, 2004 - The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) kicked off the semester with their first meeting at TA Brady's on Jan. 27th.

They started the evening by getting to know one another over pizza and soft drinks. They talked about the different leadership roles they have had in the past, and how they hoped this program would improve their leadership skills.

"I joined ELP because I missed being around the leadership roles I had in high school," said Hannah Nelson, agricultural education major.

At the meeting, the group met their mentors and advisors. The four mentors for this semester are Jessie Beck, Marie Counts, Brad Starbuck and Jacob Shellabarger.

"ELP is a place for people of similar interests and backgrounds to get together and learn more about each other," said Brad Starbuck, senior agribusiness management major. "I wish there would have been something like this around when I was a freshman."

The three advisors for the program are Rob Terry, Megan Warner, and Trent Engbers.

After introductions, the group bowled until the conclusion of their meeting.
