For the students, by the students
What is the Dickinson Center all about?
Jamie Reading, Corner Post Staff
January 28, 2004 - The Gary L. Dickinson Center, also known as the Student
Achievement Center, has been up and running for one year. The center is
named for the Dickinson family who donated the money for it to be built.
The offices that were there before were using rooms that were originally
storage closets and they didn't have any windows.
"This Center is the first impression that prospective students get to
CAFNR, first impressions are everything," Dr. Spain said.
The Dickinson Center hosts offices for student loans and financial needs,
the study abroad program and recruitment. For career services, the Dickinson
Center offers on-campus interviews, resume critiques and they hold mock
interviews to help prepare the students for job interviews.
The Dickinson Center has added a new Student Resource Center. This has
four computers with workstations. Students can come in on their free time
throughout the day to check their e-mail or to do research for classes.
