V-Day
at MU on Friday, Feb. 18
By: Meghan Stewart, Corner Post staff
The University of Missouri—Columbia
will be presenting a benefit production of The Vagina Monologues
at 7 p.m., February 18 at Jesse
Auditorium.
The monologues were created by Eve Ensler author of The Vagina Monologues.
The Vagina Monologues, more commonly known as V-day, is a collection of small
skits about the vagina based on true stories. The Vagina Monologues’ purpose
is to raise awareness and funds for local organizations to end violence against
women and girls.
MU students, faculty and staff along with other volunteers will perform the
skits. The organizer for this year’s performance is Julie Ditmars, a
master’s student at MU. All proceeds from the performance will go to
local women’s shelters and organizations that help women.
