Loos tales comes to campus Feb. 8
By Tyne Morgan, Corner Post staff
Trent Loos will be on the
MU campus at 7 p.m. on February 8 in the Monsanto Auditorium of the
Life Sciences Building to speak about closing
the gap between farmers and consumers. Loos’ topic is Stop Defending
Agriculture.
“
I first heard him speak at the Block and Bridle National Convention
last year in San Antonio, Texas,” said Amanda Liles, Block and
Bridle President. “There is a lot of negative press out there
about animal agriculture in general. He addresses those situations
and motivates people to get involved. He is a sixth generation farmer,
so he was easy to identify with.”
Loos is a sixth generation farmer who has taken his passion for a rural
lifestyle to a radio program titled “Loos Tales.” With
a background in livestock production, Loos speaks about various agricultural
topics with the main theme of narrowing the gap between farmers and
consumers. A driving force in his broadcasts is interviewing a diverse
group of people in order to keep his show entertaining and educational.
He began his career at a Missouri radio station out of Carrollton. “Loos
Tales” aired on KMZU beginning in January 2001.The show branched
out and began a program on the Brownfield Network. Now, the show airs
on over 100 stations across the Midwest.
Loos has also written articles that have appeared in Drovers Journal,
Beef Today, Tri-State Neighbor and on meatingplace.com. He has also
had articles published in numerous local radio stations and Ag publications.
Loos’ lecture is being sponsored by Block and Bridle.
