For the students, by the students
Offsuit continues to entertain
crowds
By Meghan Stewart, Corner Post staff
Offsuit, a local Columbia
band played at the Music Café March
3 and left the crowd in aw.
The band is made up of five University of Missouri students: Stephanie
Bankston, vocalist and keyboard; Rob Boehm, vocalist and drummer;
Morgan Dean, guitar; John Stewart, vocalist and guitar; and
Darold Crotzer,
better known as DOC vocalist and bass.
The band is mainly a cover band but they did play three of their
own songs “Take A Chance,” “American Lullaby,” and “Don’t
Wanna Be Left Alone.” They play everything from old rock and
roll to Warren G’s and Nate Dogg’s “Regulators.” The
crowd ate it up. People were dancing and signing along the entire
night.
There was even a crowd surfer. The band was having a great
time up
on stage and was loving listening to the crowd scream their names
and cheer them before and after every song.
Offsuit has been playing together for almost a year now and are
hoping they can continue to play for as long as people will listen.
Boehm,
DOC and Stewart
have been playing together since high school. They met Bankston freshman
year of college and the four of them along with John Parr started
the band The Big “O.” The
band decided to split up after freshman year ended but then reunited this
year. But they were short a member. Parr decided not to join them.
They found Dean,
who joined them, and they became Offsuit shortly after that. The combination
is pure harmony.
Offsuit is hoping to get another gig before this year ends, and the fans
are hoping they get one soon.
