Lead Big 12 North with win over Baylor Although it was a later game than usual, the Tigers showed no sign of letting up on Big 12 North opponents. With a win over Baylor Saturday, 30-10, and Nebraska losing in a blowout to Texas Tech 70 to 10, Mizzou holds the lead in the Big 12 North, and looks on to the Title Game in December. Brad Smith connected with receivers three times through the air and added more tosses in for 151 yards on the night. This was, of course with the Tigers running the ball 52 times on Baylor’s defense. Joe Tantarelli added in three field goals to put the 30-spot on the Bears of Baylor. Mizzou goes to 4 and 1 on the year,
with a big game at Texas next week that will be nationally televised
on ABC at 2:30 p.m. The Tigers
roll into Austin with Brad Smith’s 1,378 total yards on offense
and Damien Nash’s skills with 450 yards on the ground. The defense
is giving up an average 13 points a game while the offense is scoring
32. This will be tested against Texas’ combined offensive threats
of quarterback Vince Young and running back Cedric Benson.
