CAFNR Celebrates 100 Years of Tradition Barnwarming, one of CAFNR’s oldest traditions, celebrates its 100th birthday this year. This year’s theme, “Looking to the past, Building for the future,” encompasses the traditions of the college, as well as new opportunities for the future. The present day Ag Week began as the “Farmer’s Fair.” A Barnwarming dance was held, but only a queen was crowned. Now, crowning a king and queen is the highlight of the Barnwarming evening. During the Farmer’s Fair, activities such as paddle lines, smooch booths, and goat kissing provided entertainment for CAFNR students and faculty. Some activities this year are volleyball games, a washer’s tournament, skit night and a fish fry. The 2004 Ag Week will conclude on Friday, Oct. 1. Barnwarming events begin with the BBQ at 7 p.m. at Trowbridge Livestock Arena. Busses begin leaving from Trowbridge for the dance at 9 p.m. The dance costs $8. On Saturday, October 2, as part of the Centennial Celebration, CAFNR alumni and current students are welcome to participate in campus tours and a pre-game tailgate before the Colorado football game. After the football game, a dinner, social and dance are scheduled for alumni and current students. Cost is $25. If there are any questions about the Centennial Barnwarming Celebration
