New Career Services Director is Here to Stay
By Marie Findley, Corner Post Staff

Stephanie Chipman comes to Mizzou after serving as Director of Career Services at Drury University as well as at Truman State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degreein psychology with a minor in biology and her Master’s Degree in education from Drury University located in Springfield, Mo.

Chipman said, “I came to Mizzou because I feel that Mizzou has a wealth of opportunities.” She also has family ties to CAFNR because her grandfather was a graduate of CAFNR.

Chipman will bring many great new ideas to CAFNR’s Career Services department, a mentoring program where upperclassmen help the underclassmen with preparing for the real world by conducting mock interviews and helping with resumes.

She would also like to work closely with alumni to possibly start a mentor program for upperclassman. That way they can learn from alumni about their profession of choice that.

Another idea of Chipman’s is to bring students to employers. She would like to organize seminars in St. Louis and Kansas City on how to interview and then to have actual interviews with employers. This would be of little cost to employers and would create great opportunities for students.

Along with her great ideas, Chipman wants to work with students the entire time they are at college. She said,, “The career services process is not a single point of time, and I will work with the students the entire time they are at college.” She has an open door policy, and she would really like to hear all suggestions the students have for career servicesprogramming. Chipman started on Monday, October 4, and her office is in Ag 2-64. All students are welcome to come and give suggestions.
