Botanical Garden tourists discover where milk REALLY comes from
Katie Allen, Corner Post Staff

Mizzou Block and Bridle provided children and adults at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis the opportunity to milk a cow and see other farm animals at on Oct. 2-3, 2004.
The annual milk-a-cow booth and petting farm serves as both a fundraiser for the club and an educational event for the community. Mizzou Block and Bridle has sponsored the event for more than 10 years.

Twelve club members assisted people of all ages in milking the dairy cows provided by the MU dairy farm. Participants paid $2 to milk a cow and $5 to milk a cow and have a picture taken. Picture coloring and the petting farm, consisting of calves, chickens and piglets, also entertained participants.

“(Children) hopefully learn a little more about where milk comes from and know that it (milk) doesn’t come from the grocery store,” said Amanda Liles, MU Block and Bridle Club President.
