MU Hosts Study Abroad Fair
Linda Veatch, CAFNR Corner Post Staff

September 10, 2003 - The annual Study Abroad Fair was from 11:00am to 2:00 pm in the Stotler Lounge in Memorial Union. Many students came and looked through the different booths to find out what it was all about.

Kurt Richter, leader of the CAFNR study abroad program was there to answer any questions. "I was very pleased with the turnout. It was the largest study abroad fair I have attended," Richter said.

Students walked around asking questions and picking up information about where, when and who could go. There were booths there for most of the countries involved in the study abroad program. They included: Costa Rica, France, Northern Ireland, Prague, Thailand, UK, Belize, Brazil, New Zealand, and China. The student health center was also there to answer questions. This was the first time there were other colleges besides CAFNR attending and promoting departmental study abroad opportunities.

"I think it is a very wonderful experience. You are able to meet new people and learn a lot of things you are unable to learn in the classroom. It also gives you a chance to see the world," senior agricultural journalism major, Tiffany Michaelis said. Michaelis went to France this past summer.
