Richter Resigns
Michael Deering, CAFNR Cornerpost Reporter

Kurt Richter, director for the CAFNR study abroad program, publicly announced his resignation on Monday, September 22. Richter has served CAFNR for the past five years and is ending his term as the director in December.

Richter is moving to Davis, California to be with his fiancé. Richter would not comment on how long the resignation was official. "I've know for two years that I was going to resign, I just didn't know when," Richter said.

Richter's resignation has been suspected and rumored for the past two weeks. "Two weeks, I've heard this rumor for two years," Matt Hill, CAFNR student council president said. Richter said that things had to be done before he made it public.

"Anyone who resigns knows that there is a coming to be period," Richter said. He said that this is the first time that a transition in this position has been made.

"He probably just wanted to see if everything was going to pan out first," Matt Hill said.

"I just wanted to make sure the transition went smoothly to insure the existence of this program," Richter said.

As of now Richter is not employed in California. "Rumors or no rumors, one thing is for sure; he was definitely good at everything he did for CAFNR," Hill said.
