Want
a new man every month?
Kelly Connett, Cornerpost reporter
November 29, 2003- Want a new man every month? Even better, do you want a new
man every month from the Ag school? The Collegiate Horsemen's Association has
solved your needs. The calendar is a fundraiser for the MU chapter of the Collegiate
Horsemen's Association.
The calendar contains men in clubs, as well as majors, under the Ag school. Clubs
had the option for $10 to put their club meetings and times on the actual calendar
itself. About 22 guys have volunteered so far to be featured in the calendar.
Amy Stuck, who is the fundraising chair of CHA, helped come up with the
idea. "The
CHA is basically a group of MU students who enjoy horses, some of the members
have ridden in rodeo circuits, some have shown for years, some ride for pleasure,
and some of the members don't even own horses, never have, but just love being
around them and other people who share our love for horses."
She also adds, "Horse ownership and experience isn't required [in the
club], which is one of the major things we stress. We just like to get
together, do
horse related activities such as the rodeo and or open horse show, go to national
convention, and allow people who would otherwise not meet other people who share
their love for horses to do so."
The calendars are almost ready for sale. They should be available before Christmas
break. They are 11 x 17, and are printed in black and white. They can be purchased
for $5. The money raised will be used for CHA's open horse show or rodeo this
spring. In the last few years CHA has sponsored, organized, and hosted the Spring
Round-Up for the Missouri High School Rodeo Association.
When asked if she would buy the calendar, Jeana Johnson, a freshman,
animal science
major responded, "You bet! I can't wait to see some topless farm boys. Yee-haw!!" Well
if you are as anxious as some, don't worry. The calendars will soon be on sale.
