GDI
Dance Shakes Up Columbia's "Little Kemper"
Amy Dunlap, Corner Post Staff
September 12, 2003-Cold and rain couldn't keep Kemper Arena from being lit up
at the GDI Start Day Dance as GDI members and students alike packed the building
and danced the night away from 9:00 P.M to 1:00 A.M.
The dance was BYOB and there was a cost of five dollars to enter, a change from
the kegs of years past. Students seemed not upset by this by the way the dance
was proceeding and the way the coolers were positioned against the walls. Music
at the event ranged from Kenny Chesney and Hank Williams Jr. to Poison and Nelly,
so there seemed to be a little something for everyone.
GDI has a reputation for putting on great dances and parties, and this
dance was no exception. MU agribusiness management sophomore and GDI
member Clint Kendrick
said "I thought the dance was great. I had a great time with my friends and I
thought the dance had a good turnout."
