CAFNR Staff Celebrates Fall Fest
Chelsea Moffitt, Corner Post Staff

November 10, 2003-CAFNR faculty and staff sure do know how to have a good time! On Wednesday, November 5, around 300 CAFNR faculty and staff were expected to show for the CAFNR Staff Fall Fest at Trowbridge.

"The purpose of this event is to develop staff report and build moral within the faculty," Debbie Lingle, agronomy information specialist said.

Chili, donated by Jack's Gourmet Restaurant was served along with vegetables and apple cider for lunch. Tickets were sold for a raffle. Prizes included a $100 gift certificate to C& S Grocery, a $50 gift certificate for gas at Breaktime, and a $30 gift certificate to Jack's Gourmet Restaurant. Staff could also guess the number of pieces of candy in a jar for 50 cents. The winner received the jar of candy as well as $10.

According to Melissa Niedermann, CAFNR Staff Advisory Council Special Events Coordinator, the money earned from the raffle will supplement some of the money lost in budget cuts and will also be used to send teachers to workshops and conferences.

Faculty also participated in a plant walk (similar to a Cake Walk) and miniature golf.

"Hopefully this was a relaxing social event for staff members. If anyone has any suggestions of how to improve this even they should get in contact with me. We want staff to enjoy these events and look forward to coming back next year," Niedermann said.
