Mizzou Cattlewomen Invade the American Royal
Amy Dunlap, reporter, CAFNR Corner Post

October 23-24, 2003- Three members from the Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen's Association visited the 2003 American Royal Livestock Show held in Kansas City, Missouri. The American Royal is held from October 3 to November 22. At the Royal, America's best livestock are showcased. There are also rodeos, barbeque contests, and concerts during the event.

Cattlewomen that attended were Michelle Dowell, sophomore animal sciences major, Kim Radcliff, junior animal sciences major, and myself, a freshman agricultural journalism major.

At the Royal, we volunteered with the Missouri Beef Industry Council. We helped people in the animal petting zoo and answered questions about the Royal and the animals that were showcased. We also got a chance to watch several cattle shows, the American Royal rodeo on Thursday night, and the Buddy Jewel concert after the rodeo.
