Buy a Tiger, By the Tail

September 15, 2003-- There is a new event on the agenda for Ag Week this year called, "Buy a tiger, By the tail". This is a new event that is a labor/date auction that will be happening on Monday, September 22nd in between the skits at the Ag Week skit night at the Blue Note.

If you want to buy a tiger that night all you have to do is register at the door of the Blue Note, and you will be given a number. You will also have to sign a waiver with the restrictions of the date. The potential tiger dates are members of the Ag week steering committee, as well as the auctioneer Mr. Mike Deering, an ag journalism major.

Just like any other auction the person with the highest bid will win a date with their tiger. At the end of the night, dates will have a chance to meet and plan their night out. As a bonus for buying a tiger, different eating establishments around town have donated gift certificate for these special dates.

"This sounds like a lot of fun and a good way to get a date", said Jeana Johnson, freshman animal sciences major.
