ACT Provides Community Service
Linda Veatch, reporter, Corner Post Staff

October 15, 2003-In lieu of having a regular meeting, the Mizzou Agrictultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) met at the Central Missouri Food Bank and volunteered from 7-8:30 p.m.

Those present were: Scott Hopke, Jacob Shellebarger, Margy Fischer, Tiffany Michaelis, Sara Brown, and Linda Veatch. Volunteering at the food bank marked the beginning of ACT's monthly service project. These members helped separate and package certain foods, such as various chicken parts.

" I think one of the things that has distinguished our club is our community service,” said Scott Hopke, ACT President.

Hopke made an excellent suggestion in monthly effort to work at the Food Bank. “I look forward to bringing that proposal before the club, and seeing that come through to fruition. As communicators, I believe it is our responsibility to go out into the community. Our club members have become closer through service projects.”

“ All students are welcome to become involved in our community service," said Margy Fischer, ACT Community Service Chair.
